Glue-Down Hardwood Installation in San Antonio

Hardwood bonded to a flat, prepared subfloor — a solid feel underfoot and clean lines from room to room.

Altos Flooring

Hardwood, glued down

Many homes in South and Central Texas are built on concrete slabs, and glue-down is how we install hardwood. Each board is bonded to a flat, clean, prepared surface, which gives the floor a solid feel underfoot.

A glued floor is only as flat as what's under it, so prep is a big part of the job: grinding high spots, patching, self-leveling and moisture protection where the flooring and adhesive manufacturers require it.

What We Do

What's included in a hardwood installation

Slab prep

Grinding, patching, crack repair and self-leveling so the wood bonds to a flat, sound surface.

Moisture protection

Primer or moisture barrier as the flooring and adhesive manufacturers require.

Careful layout

Boards laid out with staggered joints and balanced cuts, so the floor looks right from the main view of each room.

Demo & removal

Carpet, tile, wood and LVP removal, plus carpet glue and adhesive removal before the new floor goes in.

Trim & transitions

Primed baseboards, shoe molding or quarter round, and clean transitions to other floors.

Labor-only quotes

You buy the hardwood — we recommend Floor & Decor — and we quote the prep and installation.
